WASTED DESIGN *

Your waste matters. What we throw away matters. Waste can make all the difference.

REPURPOSING OUR OWN WASTE

A project focused on the critical and tangible intervention about the waste produced on a daily basis from design and architecture students of the University of Navarra, with the objective to repurpose those materials and leftovers and transform them into new functional designed products for them.

As a chain re-action, a proposal using techniques of experimentation, upcycling and reusing materials to emphasize and showcase that students waste could also be the main source to sustainable opportunities.

SHELVES MADE WITH

°PLYWOOD LEFTOVERS

* FROM DESIGN STUDENTS - TO STUDENTS DESIGNS.

WASTED DESIGN a collection of

3 functional upcycled storage structures with an unconventional appearance.

Each shelve communicates visually the context where

constructed out of plywood leftovers each with a visual complex character and identity. A fusion between an artistic and functional approach, each piece reflects the distinct personality of its corresponding design workshop, service, fashion, and product design by visually introducing familiar elements and tools associated with them.

The project aims to confront the relentless production of garbage generated by design students, transforming it into an opportunity for creativity and sustainability.

This experimental intervention tries to translate a paradigm shift, urging students and designers to reconsider our relationship with discarded or abandoned materials we often use with the intent to recognize the hidden potential within our own waste.

WASTE-MADE

OBJECTS

While incorporating recycling and upcycling into the design process, "Wasted Design" seeks to instill a sense of responsibility and consciousness among future designers, fostering a generation that values sustainability.

By transforming our waste into functional and conceptual objects, this initiative aims to disrupt the cycle of disposability and redefine the true worth of discarded materials.

WASTE* EXPERIMENTATION

Guided workshop to document the creative process, interaction and relationship of design students with their own daily waste.
